Yemeni Women NGOs Leadership Network

(YWNLN)

It is an alliance comprising Yemeni women leaders from civil society organizations, established in 2022 to address the challenges women face in the fields of social justice, development, and humanitarian work, with a particular focus on climate change issues. The network aims to advance key gender-related issues, professionalism, social participation, and entrepreneurship.

The network consists of 12 founding organizations with diverse expertise, including peacebuilding, midwifery, agriculture, development, and relief, and its activities span 11 Yemeni governorates: Taiz, Aden, Abyan, Hodeida, Hajjah, Dhamar, Ibb, Sana’a, Yarim, Amant Alasima, and Al-Dhale. Additionally, the network includes over 40 member organizations, all led by women, providing a strong foundation to support humanitarian initiatives and interventions.

For over 20 years, women leaders in Yemeni civil society have played a pioneering role in supporting feminist movements and humanitarian efforts for the benefit of women, girls, and the most vulnerable families. The establishment of the Yemeni Women NGOs Leadership Network marks a pivotal step as the first network connecting all women-led civil society organizations in Yemen. This initiative aims to enhance the empowerment of Yemeni women, increase their impact, and support sustainable social change.
