(ADO) Abs Development Organization for Woman and Child
is a national humanitarian NGO established in 1996, focusing on vulnerable women, children, and communities in deprived rural areas of Tihama, Yemen. ADO has implemented over 320 developmental and humanitarian projects across various sectors, including Education & Women Literacy Eradication, Protection, WASH, Health & Reproductive Health, Nutrition, Food Security & Livelihood, Shelter and CCCM, Empowering Youth Economically and Socially, and Women Empowerment & Promoting Gender, reaching approximately 7 million beneficiaries by 2023. The organization adopts a needs-based approach to enhance the well-being and empowerment of women and children while expanding its multi-sectoral response.
(GWQ) Generations Without Qat
Founded in 2007 and licensed as an NGO in 2010, focuses on awareness and development interventions. Since 2014, it has provided rapid response and relief support to conflict-affected communities, addressing needs in shelter, non-food items, and community management. GWQ aims to support vulnerable groups, particularly young people, women, and children, by enhancing livelihoods, health, and education.
Itar Foundation for Social Development
Founded in 2011, supports the growth of Yemeni civil society organizations by connecting economic, political, and social development. The foundation engages in transformative advocacy and innovative, localized solutions while emphasizing digital transformation and addressing climate change. Itar focuses on capacity development, enhancing knowledge and skills to influence social structures and decision-making. Through these efforts, Itar aims to empower individuals and foster sustainable development in Yemen.
(NAYM) National Association of Yemeni Midwives
Founded in 2004, is dedicated to improving maternal and child health by providing essential care for women and newborns. The organization aims to reduce maternal and infant mortality rates through its specialized services. NAYM operates with financial and administrative independence and is the only registered association in Yemen focused on midwifery. Through its efforts, NAYM seeks to enhance the quality of maternal and child healthcare in the country.
(KFD) Khadija Foundation for Development
Established in 2001, aims to empower women and youth, particularly those with disabilities. The organization promotes self-reliance, advances girls’ education, and combats violence against women and girls. KFD collaborates with local and international partners to establish Khadija Centers for individuals with disabilities and create youth forums for peacebuilding. Its initiatives cover various sectors, including women and youth empowerment, humanitarian relief, health, and food security. The foundation also focuses on education in emergencies, protection, livelihood creation, and cash-for-work programs. KFD has executed numerous projects funded by international agencies in Sanaa, Ibb, and Dhamar.
Angela Foundation for Development and Humanitarian Response
Founded in 2016, has implemented 103 humanitarian and development projects across 10 Yemeni governorates. The foundation focuses on key areas such as food security, education, WASH (water, hygiene, and sanitation), protection, shelter, economic empowerment, and sustainable livelihoods, benefiting over 86,000 individuals. Angela has established strong partnerships with international organizations and collaborates with local groups and authorities. The foundation values volunteerism and actively engages women and youth as both beneficiaries and agents of change. Through these initiatives, Angela aims to promote sustainable development and resilience in communities.
(YPS) Yemen Peace School Organization
Founded in 2017, focuses on peacebuilding, security, and governance to promote sustainable humanitarian and development efforts. YPS actively engages stakeholders to ensure meaningful participation of youth and women, fostering just and sustainable peace in Yemen. The organization complements government roles and advocates for greater inclusion of women and youth from disadvantaged communities. Additionally, YPS aims to create an environment conducive to peaceful coexistence, supporting sustainable development in the region.
(ROCHD) Rifaa Organization for Community and Human Development
Established in 2018, uses a need-based approach to assist vulnerable women, children, displaced individuals, and host communities in Yemen. The organization has implemented capacity-building programs funded by international agencies, gaining their trust and forging strong partnerships. This trust has enabled access to funding for multi-sectoral integrated response projects. Founded in 2022, focuses on women’s development, prioritizing safe motherhood and childhood. The organization supports local livelihoods to enhance family income and improve humanitarian responses to women’s needs. ARWO actively contributes to skill-building and knowledge enhancement for women while raising awareness of their capabilities within society. Through these initiatives, the organization aims to empower women and promote their vital role in community development.
(NACDF) Nabdh Al-Hayah Charitable and Development Foundation
Founded in 2021, focuses on improving humanitarian, health, and living conditions in society. The foundation aims to alleviate suffering, enhance individual circumstances, and promote sustainable development while improving the effectiveness of rapid humanitarian responses. NACDF prioritizes poverty reduction and job creation for exceptional graduates, empowering youth to take active roles in their communities. The foundation also invests in the capacity development of women and youth, fostering innovation and meaningful participation in decision-making. (TFSDHR) Tomorrow’s Foundation for Sustainable Development and Humanitarian Relief
Established in 2015, provides relief services and development initiatives to create a community free from poverty. The foundation focuses on enhancing access to quality education, improving community health and nutrition, advancing water and sanitation, and empowering marginalized groups. Through these efforts, TFSDHR aims to help individuals achieve self-sufficiency and foster sustainable development in the community.
(RDF) Ramz Development Foundation
Founded in 2012, supports children and individuals with disabilities across 10 Yemeni governorates. The organization promotes inclusive and equitable development for women and children, focusing on awareness campaigns and skill enhancement. RDF aims to empower women economically and socially while creating a safe community for children and supporting gifted youth. It also provides logistical assistance to voluntary groups and initiatives within the sector.
